Hooglede – La Passerelle

Commissioned by Regionaal Landschap as part of the “Invisible Landscape” initiative.

In an exceptional collaboration with Natural Living, Fer Unique, and Philou – Art of Shaping Wood, a monumental land art installation was brought to life along Hogestraat, near number 170.
This striking work has become an organic part of the landscape, enriching its surroundings with natural elegance and artistic presence.

The sculpture evokes a fragmented defensive line — a reminder of history transformed into art.
When the sunlight touches the star-shaped centerpiece, it illuminates a moment of remembrance for the countless soldiers who gave their lives for the world we live in today.
The living willows surrounding the installation symbolise renewal and rebirth— nature reclaiming life after devastation.

Houthulst - L’équilibre perturbé

Commissioned by Regionaal Landschap as part of the “Invisible Landscape” initiative.

In collaboration with the artist collective Natural Living, Fer Unique, and Philou – Art of Shaping Wood, this captivating land art installation was created at the picnic site located at the corner of Groenebosdreef and Bosdreef.

The work plays with perspective and perception, creating the visual illusion of a pyramid — a powerful trompe-l’œilthat invites quiet contemplation.
Its form symbolises both the immense number of lives lost in times of war and the inherent hierarchy within the military: the wide base represents the countless soldiers who endured the greatest sacrifices, while the elevated summit points to the few who emerged unscathed.

The ascending line, reaching toward the sky, serves as a silent tribute— a gesture of remembrance that simultaneously evokes questions of power, sacrifice, and transience.

Poperinge – Roesbrugge - Fallen Poppies

Commissioned by Regionaal Landschap as part of the “Invisible Landscape” initiative.

In collaboration with the artist collective Natural Living, Fer Unique, and Philou – Art of Shaping Wood, a powerful land art installation was brought to life — monumental poppies that have grown into a lasting symbol of remembrance, transience, and resiliencewithin the landscape.

The artwork represents a sculptural ensemble of magnified poppy seed pods — a serene, enlarged tribute to the iconic Papaver, long recognised as a universal symbol of comfort, memory, and commemoration.

The poppy earned its emblematic meaning on the battlefields of Flanders, where it bloomed again in the wake of devastation after the First World War.
Fallen Poppiesembodies the enduring dialogue between nature and remembrance— delicate in form, yet eternally rooted in the landscape.
